Youth Programming

Empowering youth to be involved in prevention efforts that directly affect them is the most important part of our work. We are very proud to have three strong youth prevention groups in the Hartford School District.

Getting to Y

Getting to ‘Y’ is an evidence-based practice through which middle and high school aged youth bring meaning to their Youth Risk Behavior Survey data (YRBS), address youth health and well-being issues, and connect with their peers, school, and community. Students receive funding to implement their improvement projects.

OVX (Our Voices Exposed)

With the guidance of adult advisors and coalitions, OVX and VKAT youth work to educate and inform their school peers, community members and local and state decision makers on the manipulative and deceptive marketing tactics tobacco and vape companies use to target youth.

Hope Happens Here

The HHS Hope Happens Here chapter is led by student athletes who use begin conversations on and off the field to create awareness and reduce stigma around youth mental health.
